Location and information

Sitting in its own extensive estate, Château Haute Germaine is a large and wonderfully secluded property with breathtaking views from every aspect – from the Var Valley towards Nice and the Mediterranean in the South, across the valley and to the surrounding mountains in the North.

In the local village of Le Broc (5km down a single track mountain road), you’ll find various amenities including a bakery, small delicatessen, a bar and restaurants. The main shopping area, however, is located on the eastern bank and valley floor of the Var, approximately 25 minutes drive back towards Nice. There is also an Intermarché, a slightly closer and smaller supermarket (with a very good fresh fish stand!) situated at the roundabout at the Pont de la Manda (bridge).

Because of the somewhat remote location of Château Haute Germaine, we do suggest that guests arrange their own transport to best enjoy their stay. We also suggest that some or all provisions are purchased en route to the Château.
Please note: toilet paper, bin bags, cleaning products (including dishwasher tablets and washing machine liquid) are all provided.

Directions to the property are mainly from the coast. There are routes either side of the river Var; via the main route M6202bis on the West bank and the M6202 Boulevard du Mercantour on the East. The 6202bis (West) is faster (see directions below) but if you wish to visit the large Carrefour en route to Château Haute Germaine, the M6202 Boulevard du Mercantour (East) should be taken.

The address for the Carrefour is 606 Boulevard du Mercantour 06200 Nice France. Opening hours are:

Monday : 09h00 – 22h00 Tuesday : 09h00 – 22h00 Wednesday : 09h00 – 22h00 Thursday : 09h00 – 22h00 Friday : 09h00 – 22h00 Saturday : 09h00 – 21h00

To get to the Carrefour from Château Haute Germaine, continue up the 6202 Bvd du Mercantour, crossing the River Var at the La Manda bridge at Colomars (at the top of the map). This takes you via the same roundabouts mentioned in the directions to the property (below) following the signs to Carros Village and Le Broc.
